Senior Concrete Inspector
Our Boston client, a respected engineering and special-inspection firm, is seeking a Senior Concrete Inspector to lead code and regulatory compliance on commercial and institutional projects across Greater Boston. The region's dense academic, medical, and commercial construction operates under strict Massachusetts code and local requirements, so deep code knowledge is central to this role. You'll be the project's authority on building codes and ACI standards, working directly with code officials and building departments to keep concrete work compliant.
About the Role
Your days will involve interpreting specifications and code requirements, conducting comprehensive inspections of formwork, reinforcement, materials, and placement, and coordinating with code officials on compliance and corrective actions. You'll review structural drawings to establish inspection requirements, manage testing programs, and lead training for project personnel. Working around occupied campuses and hospitals, you'll often phase inspections carefully around active operations.
By six months your projects will have clean, code-defensible inspection records, building officials will trust your documentation, and project teams will lean on you for code interpretation. You'll have standardized compliance procedures that make audits straightforward.
